Sherman Street Set

Thank you so much to everyone who has joined the Winged Knits group, this is very exciting for me!
I have put up a silly little hat pattern for 2 hats that I am using for some holiday gift knitting- Sherman Street Set. Nothing fancy, just some simple, easy to wear hats. I love trying new yarns and have been particularly enamored with hand dyed fingering weight yarn lately. However, I rarely knit socks, so for gifts hats are a great quick alternative.

*SPECIAL INTRO PRICE OF $2.50 THROUGH NOVEMBER 21ST ** to celebrate the creation of a Winged Knits Group on Ravelry(after then the pattern will be $5.00)
Two hats:** A Simple Stockinette Stitch Hat and a Faux Cable Hat. 1 hank of Tibetan Dream has enough yarn for two hats- one of each style or two of the same style.

With our first winter in Maine about to arrive, I decided that I wanted to make Ethan a new hat. His request was that it be plain and warm and soft but strong and that he could fit it in his coat pocket. I showed him a hank of Bijou Basin Tibetan Dream and he liked everything about it. After finishing his hat with this beautiful yarn, I had plenty left over for another hat. And I decided that I NEEDED to knit a hat with a bit more interest and a silly pom pom for me in this fantastic yarn. We both love our new hats!

I also think that these patterns would work well in hand dyed sock yarns like Pigeonroof Siren Two Sock or if you are looking for a solid color Quince and Co. Chickadee will work up perfectly.

  1. What a wonderful pair! They would fit the bill perfectly for my son and his lady! Make that ladies as the baby would need one too!

  2. beautiful!!!!!!

  3. I received New England Knits for my birthday!!! My dear friend asked what book I wanted and so I told her. I love all the designs in the book and am trying to decide which to make first. Thanks for such a lovely book of patterns.
